CBC Radio One Interview with Dave Manga

Hollywood film "Puzzle" supported by Cobble Hill Puzzle Co
27 July 2018

There is quite a bit of buzz in Victoria, BC regarding the new film "Puzzle" starring Kelly Macdonald and Irrfan Khan. The film revolves around a friendship that forms from a puzzle partnership - and that obviously requires puzzles, which Victoria, BC based company, Cobble Hill Puzzle Co., was very happy to supply for the film.  Our Cobble Hill puzzles are predominantly featured throughout the film, the trailer, and the official movie poster, and it's very exciting to be a small part of a film by Marc Turtletaub, director of Little Miss Sunshine. You can see a few pictures on our other news post.

Today, on CBC Radio One, Dave Manga, the owner of Cobble Hill Puzzle Co., went on air to discuss the film and our involvement, a local puzzle competition held at Bolen Books on July 21st, and how the world of puzzles is enjoyed by people of all ages, skill levels, and around the world.

Actor, Alec Baldwin, praised the film on social media, taking to his Instagram and posting, "A film you MUST see this summer… There is magic in this one — the writing, performances, cinematography, and score work together beautifully… Kelly Macdonald and Irrfan Khan deserve serious recognition for their work here." Irrfan Khan responded with a repost and thanks (which delightfully has our puzzles in the background for the poster).

The movie is being praised in movie critic circles, like Rotten Tomatoes and Roger Ebert, as well as news articles like the Los Angeles Times. The film releases today in New York and LA (and other areas in the US), and in Canada later this summer - we see an August 10th date for Vancouver (and Toronto), hopefully, it makes it to Vancouver Island! See theatre release dates here.
