Our Partnership with the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children
In January 2004, Outset Media formed a partnership with a Vancouver Island charity, the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. Outset Media committed to donating $2 from the sale of every Vancouver Island-opoly game, released in the autumn of 2004, to the Foundation. Outset Media’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the Foundation from game sales.
Outset Media chose to support this Island-based charity because it is so effective in helping children and their families throughout Vancouver Island. The Foundation’s mission is to raise and invest funds to provide financial support to meet the needs of island children, youth and their families.
The Foundation’s mission parallels Outset Media’s mission to help develop healthy minds in children and provide healthy entertainment for families.
The Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children has been supporting the care of Vancouver Island’s children and youth since 1926. It promotes the health of more than 20,000 young islanders each year by providing grants to child and youth agencies.
Queen Alexandra Foundation Chief of Development Jennifer Jasechko has said that Vancouver Island-opoly is a terrific partnership between Outset Media and the Foundation. Outset Media is committed to supporting children and families in its Vancouver Island home through this partnership.
