The Cards
Camping Cards: These are the cards that players are trying to collect in order to complete their camping trip. There are three types of Camping Cards: Food, Shelter, and Fun. The Camping Cards are color-coded to match the dice. Blue represents Food, Green represents Shelter, and Purple represents Fun.

Money Cards: There are six Money Cards that can be used to buy a General Store card. It costs two Money Cards to buy one General Store Card. These cards can help players complete their camping trip quicker. However, because it costs two cards, using Money Cards leaves the player buying a General Store Card with fewer cards in her hand.

Camper Damper Cards: There are four Camper Damper Cards for each type of Camping Card. The Camper Damper Cards are all unique and each one has a caption at the bottom. These cards are used to take a Camping Card from another player. In order to play the Camper Damper Card and take a Camping Card from another player, the other player must have a matching Camper Card in his "collection pile".

General Store Cards: There is one General Store Card for each Camping Card category (Food, Shelter, Fun). These cards are used to indicate how many of each Camping Card are needed to win the game. Also, a player can spend two Money Cards to buy one of the General Store Cards to help complete her camping trip.
Note: Camper Damper Cards cannot be used to take a General Store Card from another player's "collection pile".

Objective:
To be the first camper to complete a "camping trip" by collecting all the necessary Camping Cards. The number of Camping Cards needed to win the game changes every game, and is determined by the roll of the dice at the start of the game.

How to Play:
Remove the 3 cards labeled "General Store" from the deck. Place the General Store Cards off to the side so players can see them.

Select one player to be the dealer. The dealer must shuffle all the remaining cards together, and deal 6 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards face down in a pile in the center of the table. This is the "draw pile". A "discard pile" will eventually be formed beside the draw pile. The cards placed in the discard pile can never be used again during the game.

In order to start the camping trip, players need to determine how many Camping Cards of each type (Food, Shelter, Fun) they need to collect to win the game. To determine this, the dealer rolls all three dice. The number on the dice determines how many of each type of Camping Cards need to be collected.

Note: the cards are color-coded to match the dice. Place all three dice on top of their matching General Store Cards. For example, if the dealer rolls a "2" with the blue die, the dealer would place the die on top of the General Store Card for Food. This means players need to collect 2 Food cards.

Note when playing with 5 players: if playing with five players, change all "3" rolls to a "2". Therefore, the most Camping Cards needed to win the game would be 2 each of Food, Shelter, and Fun.

Once all the campers know how many Camping Cards need to be collected, the game can start. The player to the dealer's left starts the game by drawing one card from the draw pile.

After a card is drawn, a player can either:
Place one Camping Card face up on the table in front of her in her "collection pile".

Note: you cannot place more than the required number of Camping Cards in your "collection pile". For example, if the dice indicate you need 1 Shelter card to win the game, you cannot put 2 Shelter cards in your "collection pile".

Play a Camper Damper Card. The player must give her Camper Damper Card to another player from whom she wants to take a card. Of course, she can only do this if the other player has a Camping Card face up in his "collection pile" that matches the type of Camper Damper Card played. After the Camping Card is taken, the player MUST place the card face up in her "collection pile". This means if you do not have room for another Camping Card in your "collection pile", you cannot use the corresponding Camper Damper Card. For example, if you need 2 Fun cards to win, and you already have 2 Fun cards in your own "collection pile", you cannot use a Camper Damper Card for Fun.

The used Camper Damper Card is placed in the discard pile, and can never be played again.

Buy a General Store Card. General Store Cards cost 2 Money Cards. If a player has 2 Money Cards, she can exchange them for 1 General Store Card. Once the player buys the General Store Card, she must place it face up in her "collection pile".

General Store Cards cannot be taken by another player using a Camper Damper Card. Similar to the Camper Damper Cards, the used Money Cards are to be placed in the discard pile and can never be used again in the game.
If no play is possible, the player should discard one card from her hand, and place it at the BOTTOM of the DRAW PILE.

Play continues clockwise, with each player drawing a card from the draw pile and either playing a Camping Card face up in the player's "collection pile", playing a Camper Damper Card to take another player's card, or buying a General Store Card.
Note: if all the cards in the draw pile are used, see rule 7.

If all the cards have been used from the draw pile, the game changes. Even though players can no longer take a card from the draw pile, they still must use one card on each turn. This means the number of cards in your hand will start to decrease.

If a player does not have any cards in her hand that can be played, she must borrow a card from another player of her choice. To borrow a card, the player must say, "neighbor, may I borrow something from you?" The player she chooses must agree. The players then each randomly choose a card from each other's hand. The player whose turn it was can either place her new card face up in her "collection pile", or if the borrowed card could not be added to her "collection pile" she simply puts the card in her hand.

Note: if a player does not have any cards in her hand on her turn, she gets to choose to borrow a card from any player without having to give anything back.
Very important: a player cannot choose to borrow a card from another player if she still has a card in her hand that can be played.

The winner is the first player to complete the camping trip by placing in her "collection pile" the required number of Camping Cards for Food, Shelter and Fun. The winner must yell out CAMPER DAMPER.
Happy Camping!
